BOGA Ministerial at COP30 builds momentum on the call for a roadmap on fossil fuels
BOGA members met for the BOGA Ministerial at COP30, strengthening the growing call to action built at COP30 to deliver a roadmap on a just, orderly and equitable transition away from fossil fuels, agreed by parties two years ago.
Week 2 at COP30 started with the Beyond Oil and Gas Alliance Ministerial. Hosted by Ireland, the meeting reflected the spirit of the Mutirão. Ministers agreed on the need for unity at this crucial moment and on a collective call to action for a roadmap on the transition away from fossil fuels.
Ministers stressed that accelerating implementation and aligning NDCs with the 1.5c limit must sit at the centre of COP30 outcome. Discussion focused on the ways in which a Roadmap could accelerate progress and link to enabling mechanisms and partnerships for a just transition.
